Summer term ends with a splash!

The scouts from 1st Stoke Gifford Old School Rooms finished a very busy water themed summer term at the West Country Water Park in Trench Lane near Bradley Stoke, the scouts had an evening on the inflatable water assault course. Lots of fun was had by all! The water quality and activities available are awesome and the scouts had attended earlier in the term with the water rats from 1st Bradley stoke scout group with 2 evenings of raft building and racing.

Also this term the scouts had an evening of kayaking at Saltford with the water unit from 1st Keynsham scout group

Plus dragon boating with Bristol Empire Dragons at their base in Saltford.

Plus sessions at Pirate Bay crazy golf now called Kong. A session with the SS Great Britain educational box Boat Afloat.

We did also this term hold our annual two day expedition along the Severn Walkway from Woodhouse Park, plus problem solving and Strategy challenge weekend with camping (per overleaf).

We’ve had 2 sessions to present all our Gold Chief Scouts Awards plus many of the scouts and leaders were involved fundraising with 2 BBQ’s (on the green and Popular rooms field) for the community.

Finally we’ve had talks from Wessex water on pollution and taken part in a beach clean at Kewstoke where we picked up 2 huge bin bags full of junk with lots of small plastic pieces. The troop used this as evidence to gain the UN challenge badge – Plastic Tide Turners.

Let’s have a relaxing summer break before a busy Autumn term arrives.
