Times Announced for New Beat Surgeries in Bradley Stoke

The Bradley Stoke Neighbourhood Policing team have announced the start of a series of local beat surgeries, commencing from Wednesday 26 January 2011.

The surgeries will be held at the new Police Post on the ground floor of the Mall area of the Willowbrook Centre, Bradley Stoke. These will happen every week on a Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm. The surgeries will usually be conducted by either PC Claire Fletcher or PCSO Paul Baxter, but may be conducted by other members of the team (PC Steven Palmer, and PCSOs Jason Green and Kirsty Flicker) to ensure there is always someone from our local team to discuss any issues or concerns, and give any advice.

The police ‘beat post’ was officially opened by Bradley Stoke’s Mayor, Ben Walker two weeks ago on Wednesday 12 January when Cllr Walker stated “I am delighted to be able to open this beat post from which our neighbourhood policing team will operate, to further improve the town’s policing. We continue to work with and support our policing team to ensure Bradley Stoke benefits from some of the best services available throughout South Gloucestershire.

The new beat post provides a base in the community for PC Claire Fletcher and PCSO Paul Baxter, and has been part funded by Bradley Stoke Town Council. PC Fletcher told us “We are really grateful to the Willow Brook Centre and the Town Council for supporting this new base for us. It will mean we can spend more time out and about in the community, without having to return to Filton police station to complete paperwork or make calls.

PCSO Baxter added: “The office is very much a base, not a mini police station – we will still spend most of our time out on patrol across the whole of Bradley Stoke. It is a more convenient location than the police station for local people who want to make an appointment with us, or just drop in and have a chat with us on a Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm.

Any variations to this published time will be announced should it be necessary, but will be avoided as much as possible to maintain a consistent time slot for local residents.

The office is located on the ground floor, opposite Tesco, adjacent the disabled toilets and baby change facilities.

Bradley Stoke residents can contact any member of the neighbourhood team by calling 0845 456 7000, emailing [email protected] or through the website www.avonandsomerset.police.uk.
