Tockington Manor School win National Swimming Championships IAPS

On Saturday 8 June the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) National Swimming finals took place at the London Aquatic Centre in Queen Elizabeth Park, London. Tockington Manor School pupils swam to success in their relay team race returning as national champions for the second year running.

The Tockington Under 11 Boys team, produced a magnificent performance in the 8x25m relay with personal bests and exciting final lengths. It was a close, challenging race but they focused on their individual performances and Tockington Manor School were crowned national champions with a new school record time (final time: 2:17:67). This strong team are proving themselves to be contenders across all sports, having also recently won the national cross county running championships.

This is a really strong team and it was great to watch them all achieve their best under the pressure of competition, especially in the Olympic pool. Congratulations to our national champions”

Boosted by the success of the relay race, Alex C prepared for his individual heat in the backstroke, finishing an impressive 11th in the country.
