Updates to Bristol bus services for Bristol Pride 2019

  • Diversions will be in place for bus services in Bristol on Saturday, as roads close in City Centre for the Pride Parade.
  • First West of England are providing a free shuttle bus service from City Centre for all customers attending the Bristol Pride Event on The Downs.

Diversions will be in place for most bus services travelling through Bristol on Saturday, as roads in the City Centre close to make way for the Bristol Pride celebrations.

First West of England have encouraged customers travelling into the city by bus to plan extra time into their journeys as road diversions are expected to cause delays to normal service timetables.

A free shuttle bus service will be available for those attending the Bristol Pride Festival, taking place on The Downs this year. The service will run at regular intervals from 11.30 to 22.15, between Canons Way and the Downs.

Ian Coyle, Operations Director at First West of England, said:

“Roads in City Center will be closed during the Pride Parade on Saturday and diversions will be in operation for most of our services travelling through Bristol. We advise all customers to plan extra time into their journeys and check the First West of England website for diversion updates, as alterations to service timetables will be in place.

“First West of England are pleased to support Bristol Pride Festival 2019 and we will be working with local authorities to return the services to normal as and when roads reopen.

“For the first time, Bristol Pride Festival will be celebrated on The Downs and First West of England are pleased to support customers travelling to and from this event with a free shuttle bus. All customers with Bristol Pride tickets will receive event wristbands on the bus, as well as a free sachet of ‘love tea’ provided by Pukka Tea.”

More information on service diversions can be found on the First West of England website.
