Valuing You event for people with learning difficulties
October 18th, 2014Book your place for Valuing You at BAWA in Filton on Wednesday 26 November, South Gloucestershire s event for people with learning difficulties, their families and carers, as well as service providers and staff.
The event will be opened by Paralympian Karen Baxter and will showcase activities and opportunities available to people with learning difficulties in South Gloucestershire.
Throughout the day there will be lots of fun workshops taking place which will promote the range of opportunities available and encourage people to try something new. The short activity sessions will offer something for everyone, including fencing, dancing, boccia, knitting and drumming. There will also be an art competition, and you can find out more information about Dementia Friends and the fun of shared reading. People will also have the chance to try an interactive room and technology corner.
The event will also raise awareness of the work of South Gloucestershire Learning Difficulties Partnership Board and provide an opportunity to tell visitors about some of the projects they support through the Learning Difficulties Development Fund.
Chair of South Gloucestershire Council s Adults and Housing Committee Cllr John Ashe said: The South Gloucestershire Learning Difficulties Partnership Board do a lot of great work in the district and fund a number of important projects through the development fund.

Valuing You takes place on Wednesday 26 November, from 10am to 3pm, at BAWA, Southmead Road, Filton, South Gloucestershire BS34 7RG.
