The Stoke Gifford Branch of the RBL is celebrating a branch record breaking fundraising year. For the 2014 – 2015 Poppy Appeal, (which runs from 1st October 2014 to 30th September 2015), the branch has already raised over £41,000. This is already several thousand pounds higher than its previous record, and there is still more fundraising to do !!

Terry Webber said “The need is as great as ever”.

The money raised by the Poppy Appeal goes to the RBL Welfare Fund to provide help and support for current and ex service personnel and their families. The RBL spends £1.6 million every week on its welfare and support work.

If you or someone you know needs help from the Royal British Legion please contact the RBL national helpline – 0808 802 8080, it is open from 8 am to 8pm.

The RBL has recently opened a new Pop In Centre in 60 Union Street, Bristol, BS1 2DL, where people can call in for advice and information on the charity’s support and community services.”
