‘South Pacific‘ set to brighten February half term
Olveston Parish Players’ exciting 2020 musical production of ‘South Pacific’ is coming to Olveston Parish Hall in Tockington (BS32 4LQ) from Wednesday 19th to Saturday 22nd February (curtain up 7.30pm).
The lively and colourful performances will feature Rodgers and Hammerstein’s famous and much-loved score, with memorable songs that include ‘There is Nothin’ like a Dame’, ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ and ‘I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair’.
The Parish Players welcome back Sarah Wiggins and David Proud to head the bill as spirited US Navy nurse Nellie Forbush and wealthy French plantation owner Emile de Becque. Sarah and David both had leading roles in the company’s 2019 sell-out production of ‘The Sound of Music’.
They are joined centre stage by Paul Harrod as the heroic Lieutenant Joseph Cable, with Amy Sunderland as Cable’s sweetheart Liat, and Lesley Clarke as Liat’s straight-talking mother, Bloody Mary. Paul Dimery is set to entertain the audience as loveable loud-mouth Seabee Luther Billis.
With artistic leadership once again in the experienced and talented hands of Linda Evans, Chloe Allsopp-Jones and Jill Harris − as Director, Musical Director and Choreographer respectively − we can all look forward to another successful and memorable show.
South Pacific will fill your dark winter evenings with light and song, and leave you happily humming the tunes for days to come. If you haven’t got your tickets already, seats may still be available: £10 for adults, £7 for children, with premium tickets at £12. Contact the Box Office on 01454 202011.
