Local Opticians raises more than £170 for mental health charity

Specsavers in the Willow Brook Centre held a Halloween bake sale on Saturday 29th October, raising £178 in aid of a mental health charity.

Staff at the local opticians baked lots of spooky sweet treats to sell to customers for Mind, a charity offering advice and support to those experiencing poor mental health.

‘The cake sale was really successful, and it was a great way to remind people about the importance of good mental health,’ says store director at Specsavers Bradley Stoke, Ed Stanleigh. ‘Mind supports so many people in our local community, and we’re glad we can show our appreciation for the amazing work it does.

‘We’ve raised around £1,750 for Mind this year, but we’re hoping to hit the £2,000 mark by the end of the year so keep an eye out for details about more activities.’

Mind is a registered charity run by a team of dedicated volunteers for those experiencing mental health difficulties. With 125 local networks, the charity provides people of all ages with guidance and support while working to change attitudes towards mental health in communities.
