YoBike to support Bristol’s day of cycling – sign up before 12noon Friday 6th July for a free rideJuly 5th, 2018
YoBike will be offering free rides around the city to support Bristol’s full day celebration of cycling on Sunday 8 July.
To coincide with both the Bristol Grand Prix and the local HSBC UK Let’s Ride event YoBike will be offering a coupon for a free ride through the YoBike app.
Riders will be able to get their free ride using a code which will be available on the YoBike app and sent out to everyone who registers to ride at the event by 12 noon Friday 6 July. Once the code has been redeemed, whoever is using the app will be able to ride a YoBike for free between 12pm and 6pm on the Sunday.
This will allow people to take part in the HSBC UK Let’s Ride event, which is free to attend, on a free YoBike and ride around the city centre without traffic from 1.30pm.
Cllr Kye Dudd, Cabinet Member for Sport said: “It is great that we’ve been able to work with YoBike on this event. As part of our role we want to make sure that as many people as possible have a chance to take part. We want to encourage more people around the city to get active and this is a perfect opportunity for everyone to try cycling in a traffic free environment even if you don’t have a bike.
“A big thanks to YoBike for working with us on this project and helping to make sure everyone can take part in this great celebration of cycling. If you haven’t already I’d encourage you to sign up to take part on the Let’s Ride website.”
Jade Ebenezer, Head of Business Development for YoBike, said: “We love HSBC UK Let’s Ride and Bristol Grand Prix because it is a fantastic opportunity to get more people on their bikes and making cycling part of everyday urban mobility.”
Anyone can register to take part in the HSBC UK Let’s Ride event by heading to the website: www.letsride.co.uk/events/bristol
If they register for HSBC UK Let’s Ride Bristol before 12noon on the 6 July they will be sent the code that day. If they have registered and use the code on the day they will also get a chance to win a Go Pro camera as part of a lucky draw competition donated by British Cycling.
The YoBike app can be downloaded on the App Store or on Google Play.
Anyone in town before 12pm on Sunday 8 July will be able to catch the best parts of the exciting Grand Prix race which is due to start at 8am.
