Bradley Stoke Community School gain National Award from the Bullying Intervention Group
January 25th, 2014Staff and students at Bradley Stoke Community School are celebrating after receiving confirmation that they have gained the National Award from BIG (Bullying Intervention Group) for their commitment to anti-bullying work across the school.
Val McFarlane, Director, Bullying Intervention Group told us, Bradley Stoke Community School recognise and acknowledge that all schools will at some time have friendship or bullying issues. But this school has been rewarded for the excellence in challenging bullying as they have a range of effective strategies in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their pupils. They have an excellent “Frog” reporting and recording system; they have a peer mentoring scheme; various innovative awareness raising events and very good communication with parents/carers. Their staff are well trained and homophobia is particularly well addressed. It is refreshing to find a school which has recently joined up to BIG, who have already got so many different strategies already in place, and have achieved the BIG Award within weeks of their membership. We are delighted to have Bradley Stoke among our BIG Award winners and wish them continued success in their anti-bullying work.
Susie Davis, Director of Student Support said, We are delighted to receive this award which recognises the on-going work which staff and students are involved with in Bradley Stoke Community School.
