Faster Broadband Campaign – More Votes Needed!!
December 13th, 2010We have been asked once more to headline the BT’s Race to Infinity Campaign which gives local residents a chance of improved broadband connection speeds. Residents up and down the country can vote for their neighbourhood to be fast-tracked for the installation of superfast broadband. Local people and businesses have got behind this campaign since it was first featured by ourselves and others in early October. We have been asked to bring the voting scheme to our readers attention yet again as more votes still need to be generated!! The Race to Infinity competition invites residents to vote online for their area to become one of the first to benefit from fibre optic broadband. The five areas with the largest percentage of votes by 31st December 2010 will win the opportunity to bring superfast fibre optic broadband to their area. What s more, BT will also donate £5,000 of computer equipment to a local community project.
The Almondsbury exchange (01454) has to date only registered 866 votes out of a possible 9,480. The Filton exchange (0117) has logged even less with only 347 votes registered out of a possible 18,000+ BUT THERE IS STILL TIME TO VOTE ! Tell your friends and neighbours too …. We at Bradley Stoke Matters lodged our votes at the beginning of October but it seems that despite an on-line community campaign with additional banners and leaflet drops across the town, spearheaded by the Bradley Stoke Journal, residents are still not feeling motivated to log on and vote.
Voting is easy! Just go to BT s Race to Infinity website HERE You simply need to enter your landline, your postcode and whether you are a residential or business customer. Don t forget to tell your friends to log on to support the community with their vote!
Only one vote per address permitted, EVERY VOTE COUNTS, so do please take time to log on and vote for your household!
