Free Radio Training for budding journalists
September 11th, 2011
This week Bradley Stoke Radio begin training a new cohort of budding journalists, DJ s and producers with free training at their community station based in The Willow Brook Centre. The course covers a variety of radio broadcasting skills from feature making, presentation skills, editing, production and interview skills. The community station welcomes new members offering the chance to train and become a presenter in time for their next FM broadcast planned for December 2011. The station is completely run by volunteers and broadcasts online 365 days a year with live shows every day and can be heard every Sunday 1-2pm on BCfm 93.2fm.
Chairperson Lucy Smith explains We are looking forward to our next training courses, we have classes running on alternate Saturday mornings and another class on Wednesday evenings so that we can give as many new volunteers as possible the opportunity to get involved. The training is delivered by volunteers from the station who all went through our first training course earlier this year so it’s a chance for them to give something back to the station and the community. We are particularly looking for news and sports reporters to cover the many events in the community, so if you have ever thought you could do better than Gary Linaker or think you could be the next Gaby Logan or Trevor Macdonald this is your chance.
For more information about training courses please contact [email protected] or call the studio on 01454 616055 to leave a message.
