Gorgeous Afternoon in the Sun at St Michael’s Primary School Summer Fayre

This year s summer fayre at St Michaels Primary School was an extra special event for their 150th Anniversary to thank and celebrate with the Community. On a gorgeous, sunny Saturday (13th July) we popped down to enjoy the fun!

There was lots to do from a Bouncy Castle, Penalty Shoot Out, Go Karts (one home made by Miles Reynolds-Cole), raffles, refreshments, face painting, tattoos, colouring, nerf shots, teddy tombola, Geocaching, to name a few as well as a hog roast and a BBQ.

An arena was set up on the field for children to show off their talents in the form of dance routines, maypole dancing, singing, violin solo, recorder duet, accordion and a magic show.

Mark Freeman, Head Teacher told us, “When the school started in 1863 no-one can have imagined how the local area would have changed over time – with most of these changes happening in recent years. Although the landscape may have altered quite fundamentally, I hope that our core aims as a school – to educate, celebrate, communicate and cooperate – still echo those of the past, and will stand the test of whatever the future may bring. I d like to thank everyone who has helped organise the events – it has been a fantastic team effort. Days like today are a wonderful example of how our community works so well together, providing memorable and enjoyable experiences for all of us. ”

The celebrations went on into the evening with a Barn Dance and hogroast followed by a disco.
