Local Pre-School Opens At Little Stoke Primary School

Due to increasing demand for pre-school places a new facility is opening in Little Stoke offering quality education to children from 2 to 4 years of age.

Work is currently underway to convert classrooms and an outside area within the Little Stoke Primary School to be ready to receive children from September 2013.

Karen Llewellyn, Manager of the new Bright Sparks pre-school, told us “After the successful setting of our existing pre-school at Stoke Lodge Primary School we have always wanted to expand further into the local community to provide further places for all families in the area. We work closely with not only the children and their families but with all other local agencies to provide the best service we can. Our staff are excellent at providing quality care and helping and assisting families so that their children can reach their full potential ”.

Bright Sparks Pre-School has been such a success that families from all surrounding areas, including Little Stoke, travel to the Stoke Lodge Primary School site. It therefore made sense for Bright Sparks to expand into an area that requires more pre-school places.

Being on the Primary School site not only provides a safe environment for the children it means that fantastic links can be made with the school and families whose children attend the school. Children can make an assisted transition from pre-school to primary school much more easily when they are in familiar surroundings and around familiar people.

Scott Howes, Headteacher for Little Stoke Primary School, and the Little Stoke Governors have been heavily involved with the decisions regarding the new pre-school. Scott Howes commented ” We are delighted to be linking up with an already successful community provision and our staff have already started forming positive relationships in preparation for the opening in September. These are exciting times and we all look forward to our future together. ”

The Little Stoke Primary School site will offer pre-school care for children from 2 to 4 years of age. Bright Sparks is fully inclusive and can cater for children with any additional needs including life threatening disorders, who require specialist treatments such as medications and feeding through PEG tubes. The buildings are fully accessible for wheelchair users or for those with additional needs. Bright Sparks welcomes all and is a not-for-profit organisation.

Bright Sparks would like to extend a huge thank you to all involved. It could not have been achieved without you!
