Nearly £800 Raised in Memorial Cricket Match for Local Colleague
October 10th, 2012
Staff from Circadian Trust, the social enterprise that runs South Gloucestershire s leisure centres including the Bradley Stoke Centre, raised £795 through a charity cricket match for the British Heart Foundation in memory of a colleague who died last year at the age of 37.
James Clifford, who worked as Head of Marketing and was based at the local Bradley Stoke Centre, died suddenly last year following a cardiac arrest. Staff from all areas of the not-for-profit trust formed a team and won in a match against cricket Stapleton Cricket Club.
Mark Crutchley, Chief Executive of Circadian Trust, said: I would like to thank everyone who attended for their generosity. The game was a great success and raised nearly £800 for the British Heart Foundation, which is fantastic.
Circadian Trust has chosen to raise money for the British Heart Foundation through physical activity to increase awareness about heart disease, treatments and tests. Their partnership along with a joint investment has now led to all the leisure centres run by Circadian Trust being equipped with defibrillators.
