New Bristol Walk Fest 2015 programme released

walkThe full programme of events has been released for Bristol Walk Fest. The UK s largest urban celebration of walking returns for a third year running from 1-31 May 2015.

It features 167 walks in and around Bristol from 80 different organisations. Whilst there are walks that showcase the history, architecture and beautiful wild spaces of Bristol, you can also find events that help you learn how to make botanical dyes, practice Qi Gong, find your way without a map or meet new business partners on a NetWalk.

Walks are happening all across Bristol during the festival. All walks have easy-to-follow gradings and descriptions, with most offered free of charge.  There are also walks for families, older walkers and people with mobility needs.

Cllr Daniella Radice, Assistant Mayor for Public Health, said:

“It s brilliant that Bristol offers such a wide range of walking opportunities. Walking is more than just exercise or means of transport. It s a great way of meeting new people, discovering new places, and seeing the city in a brand new light.     If you haven t already, make sure you pick up one of our new programmes to see if there s something for you. ”

Copies of the programme are available from the Bristol Tourism Office, the Green Capital Lab on the Harbourside, libraries across the city and Stanfords bookshop on Corn Street. The programme can also be accessed online at www.bristolwalkingfestival.co.uk.
