New Style Artisan Craft Show Set to hit Bristol
March 7th, 2015
A new crafting experience is set to hit Bristol in May. Outlaw Artisan Craft Show will be taking over the Passenger Shed at Bristol Temple Meads on the 2-3 May with its unique concept that takes the traditional craft show to another level with crafts to buy, demo stage, have-a-go workshops, makers in residence , pop-up café, kids area and much more.
At the heart of the event are the 80 hand-picked exhibitors from across the UK who will be showing and selling their artisan wares at the show from screen printed fabric and cushions, to hand illustrated bone china, and fabulous fabric lampshades, to beautiful bespoke jewellery or quirky up-cycled lighting, there will be something for all tastes. The final line up has been chosen by the mother and son team behind the show, Judi and Josh Wildeman.
Judi explains: We run an application process for those wanting to be part of our shows, which allows us to select a brilliantly varied, line-up of high quality exhibitors. This is the first time we have put on an event in Bristol and we have been blown away by the applications we have received from artists and makers locally and further afield. We are really excited by the great mix we will have on offer.
The event is set to be one of the biggest craft shows in the South West and the only one of its kind offering a mix of shopping and hands-on craft experiences.
The two day extravaganza will have a demo theatre where an artisan maker will take the audience through the process of creating a piece, a free Make and Take Theatre where 25 people can have a go at making something at the same time as a tutor, a series of 1-2 hour in-depth taster workshops looking at a specific subject such as up-cycling furniture, a Crafty Kids area, a pop-up café selling deli style cuisine, a coffee trike, live acoustic music and Maker s in Residence who will be creating unique pieces over the duration of the show.
Outlaw Artisan Craft Show takes place on 2-3 May at The Passenger Shed next to Bristol Temple Meads Station. Entry costs £6 for adults (under16s free) and this includes all activities in the Demo Theatre, Make and Take Theatre , and Makers in Residence . The Crafty Kids sessions are aimed at under7s and cost £1- £2per child and the Taster Workshops cost from £10 – £18. The latter can be booked in advance and information will be posted on http://outlawevents.co.uk when the workshops are finalised.
