Opticians has Sights set on School Safety
November 17th, 2011
Children at Meadowbrook Primary School in Bradley Stoke will be seen more clearly this winter thanks to a donation of high visibility vests from their local opticians.
Specsavers in the Willow Brook Centre donated 300 hi-visibility vests to pupils at Meadowbrook this week. The vests will help to ensure the safety of children when walking to and from school and during school outings.
Ed Stanleigh, store director at Specsavers in Bradley Stoke, says: Child safety is a huge concern for parents, especially on the roads as the dark mornings and early nights begin to set in. The vests will enable children to be seen more easily and will hopefully give parents peace of mind.
Mr Jon Barr, headteacher atMeadowbrookPrimary School, says: We re thrilled with this kind donation from Specsavers. The vests will be a great help to the staff when our children are engaged in activities outside, allowing those supervising to keep an even closer watch over them.
Bradley Stoke Matters was delighted to be invited along to this week’s whole-school assembly, where Rachel Wilde and Sana Zafar from the local Specsavers answered pupils’ questions about eye-sight tests, glasses and the new high viz jackets. Pupils Chloe Winter, Freddie Phillips, Hathie Griffith Malley, Alex Clutterbuck, Jack Coffin, Joshua Smith, Jack Heulett and Jasmine Woodward looked great in their new vests!
